Taona Haderlein, PhD

Dr. Haderlein is an Instructor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science. She previously held a Research Investigator position at OCHIN, a health information technology company supporting a nationwide network of community health centers. She also served as a Principal Investigator and Biostatistician at the VA Greater Los Angeles Center for the Study Healthcare Innovation, Implementation, & Policy. Dr. Haderlein's research uses data science and informatics tools to study multidisciplinary care coordination, digital health implementation and outcomes, and the intersection of these topics, primarily employing large-scale electronic health records. She is particularly interested in applying data science, including AI/ML methods, to measure and improve the integration of behavioral health interventions for chronic disease care. She has secured VA funding as PI to examine digital health use and experiences among a variety of populations.
