Stella Finocchio

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Stella earned a BS in Neuroscience from The College of William and Mary, before earning an MSc in Psychiatric Research at King’s College London. In her undergraduate studies, Stella served as the lead research assistant on an eye-tracking study related to attention biases in cigarette smokers. Subsequently, her master’s dissertation explored clinicians’ perspectives on the treatment of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) in children and young people, with the goal of informing future formulation-driven approaches to care. Currently, Stella is working on a study investigating chronic stress and risk signatures for the development of chronic illness. In the future, Stella hopes to continue exploring the role of chronic stress and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) in eating disorders, suicidality, and self-harm. She also hopes to explore the relationships between adverse experiences, chronic stress, and women’s health/reproductive mental health. In her free time, Stella enjoys figure skating, reading, and playing with her cat, Squishy.
