Biography

Rosemary C. Ozyck, MS, RN, CHPN, originated the role of nurse coordinator for the Adult Inpatient Palliative Care team at Yale New Haven, where she triages patient care needs for an active and growing Palliative Care Consult Service. Rosemary received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of South Florida and her nursing degree from Gateway Community College. She also holds a master of science in health services administration from Salve Regina University. Prior to joining the Palliative Care team in 2015, Rosemary worked as a staff nurse for Medical-Surgical and Surgical Oncology units at Yale New Haven Hospital and as a research nurse for the Thoracic Oncology team. She has taught nurses-in-training as a clinical instructor for Gateway Community College and presents an introduction to palliative care to oncology nurses orienting at Smilow Cancer Hospital. She is a recent coauthor of a study on targeted geriatric and palliative care consults during the COVID-19 pandemic that was published in the Annals of Palliative Medicine. Rosemary maintains specialty certification as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse.
