Research

Overview

At Case Western

This project focused on creating a database for lymph node sampling with EBUS. Guided by Dr. Zachary Strumpf and

Dr. Sameer Avasarala, we created this database and analyzed lymph node sites for differences in size of

positive/negative nodes. We found a statistically significant change in the 7S lymph nodes that may alter practice patterns.

This project helped me to understand the logistics of clinical research, from generating an idea to submitting a manuscript.

I also learned how to analyze data and be resilient when our plans changed. As a result, I have a better

understanding of how to evaluate current practices and literature, and also contribute to current knowledge through

evidence-based practice.
