Biography

Najam Gohar, MBBS, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Section of Digestive Diseases at Yale School of Medicine. His research interests center on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), chronic liver disease, and the factors that influence disease progression and clinical outcomes.

His work combines clinical and translational research with large-scale health data, including electronic health records, administrative databases, and genomic datasets. He is particularly interested in understanding how genetic, metabolic, and clinical factors contribute to liver disease progression and in using real-world data to answer clinically relevant questions.

Dr. Gohar received his medical degree from Ameer-ud-Din Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. At Yale, he is developing his research expertise in hepatology, clinical epidemiology, and data-driven investigation, with the long-term goal of pursuing a career as a physician-scientist in academic medicine.
