Biography
Dr. Martin Akutek is an internal medicine physician and nephrology fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, proposed to begin a clinical fellowship in critical care medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in July 2026. After earning his medical degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology in Ghana, he completed his residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. His academic contributions focus heavily on kidney health and health equity, including published research on acute kidney injury, access to dialysis, and systemic lupus erythematosus
