Biography
Kaitlyn “Kaity” Talmage grew up on the North Fork of Long Island, NY. After completing high school, she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Spanish in 2018 from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego where she focused her research on environmental science. After graduating, she explored the role of research in the field of medicine by working as a Research Support Specialist in the Lipid Cancer Laboratory at Stony Brook University, Department of Medicine. After discovering her passion to help others, she decided to pursue a role in clinical medicine. She began by taking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course and starting a role as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on the Emergency Observation Unit at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. After getting a broad understanding of the inpatient setting, she decided to expand her clinical role by pursuing a career as a Medical Assistant at a small dermatology practice in Fairport, NY. Here, she was introduced to the world of general dermatology and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, where her passion for the specialty was established. While gaining this valuable clinical experience, she was accepted into the Johnson & Wales Physician Assistant Studies Program in Providence, RI and graduated at the top of her class with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) in May of 2024. Shortly after graduating, she became a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is very excited to start her professional career as a Physician Assistant at Yale School of Medicine by devoting herself to eternal learning, high-quality patient care, and increasing patient-access to dermatological care.
