Biography

Joe Donroe attended Tufts University School of Medicine where he received his MD and MPH degrees. During that time, he was an NIH Fogarty Scholar and spent two years working in Lima, Peru. He went on to complete a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics followed by a chief residency year with the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program before joining as a core faculty member and subsequently becoming board certified in Addiction Medicine. His interests include medical education, clinical skills development, point of care ultrasound, and caring for people with substance use disorders. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine, core faculty for the Yale Primary Care Residency Program and Program in Addiction Medicine, Director of Point of Care Ultrasound for the Yale Internal Medicine Residencies and Hospitalist Programs, and Director of the Physical Exam Course for Yale School of Medicine.
