Overview
Dr. Sukhera’s research sits at the intersection of health equity, education, and clinical care, focusing on how bias and power shape the experiences of patients and learners. He examines how health professionals recognize and respond to challenging feedback and how thoughtfully designed interventions can transform dissonance and discomfort into growth. His work integrates concepts such as self-authorship, agency, and healing from trauma, often using participatory and co-design approaches that engage patients, families, and trainees as partners in knowledge mobilization. Across these projects, his scholarship offers practical, theory-informed frameworks that support meaningful change in health professions education.
