Biography

Ian Fischer is a Research Psychologist in the Clinical Neurosciences Division of the National Center for PTSD and an Assistant Professor in the Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on identifying factors involved in the development of trauma-related disorders and associated clinical problems (e.g., suicide), with an emphasis on integrating genomic, psychological, and social domains. He is particularly interested in uncovering mechanisms of resilience and recovery to inform prevention, treatment, and policy efforts aimed at promoting mental health and well-being following trauma.
