Biography
David N. Smith, MD, FACP, FACC, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Smith completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut (BS, 1995) and earned his MD from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (1999), followed by residency in internal medicine (2002) and fellowships in vascular biology (NIH T32 support, 2005) and cardiovascular medicine (2007) at Yale University.
An active clinical trial investigator and NIH PRIDE scholar, Dr. Smith has served in prominent national leadership roles, including as a Consensus Study Committee Member for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) and Past Chair of Research for the Association of Black Cardiologists. His prolific research and publications focus on vascular biology, cardiopulmonary disease, disparate clinical outcomes, and health equity. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology
