Biography

Originally from Ecuador, Daniela Goyes, MD, MHS, is a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellow at Yale New Haven Hospital in the Veterans Affairs Research Track. She earned her medical degree in Universidad Central del Ecuador, completed her Internal Medicine residency at Loyola Medicine in Chicago, and obtained a Master of Health Science in Clinical Investigation from Yale School of Medicine. Following completion of her Gastroenterology fellowship, she will remain at Yale to pursue advanced training in Transplant Hepatology.

Dr. Goyes' research focuses on cirrhosis recompensation, portal hypertension, and autoimmune liver diseases. Her work has been recognized locally and nationally through several awards, including the AASLD Advanced/Transplant Hepatology Fellow Award and the Samuel Kushlan Award for Excellence in Research.

Beyond her research, Dr. Goyes is actively involved in the hepatology training community. She serves as the Guidelines Fellow Co-Lead for the AASLD Liver Fellow Network, where she develops educational content and contributes to the dissemination of clinical practice guidelines for trainees. She is passionate about mentorship, medical education, and collaborative research, and plans to pursue a career in academic hepatology as a clinical-investigator dedicated to advancing liver disease research and improving patient care.
