Clinical Care

Overview

Catherine "Trina" Salva, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist specializing in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and comprehensive care for women across all life stages. With over 20 years of clinical experience, she is known for her precision, warmth, and dedication to empowering patients through education and shared decision-making.

Her guiding philosophy is: “Every patient deserves care that is both clinically excellent and deeply human.” Dr. Salva approaches each consultation with the belief that listening is the foundation of healing. She strives to create a safe, respectful space where patients feel heard and supported.

Dr. Salva treats a wide range of conditions, including endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, and pelvic pain, using advanced techniques that minimize recovery time and maximize comfort. She has a particular interest in caring for patients through the menopausal transition and beyond. She is also a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.

She is also a professor and vice chair of education in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine, where she leads initiatives to improve surgical outcomes and train the next generation of compassionate clinicians.
