Carlos D. Davila, MD

Carlos D. Davila is a dual, board-certified Interventional Cardiologist and Advanced Heart Failure specialist with further training in Structural Heart Interventions. His clinical expertise focuses in performing coronary interventions, invasive hemodynamics, mechanical circulatory support, and structural heart interventions including: PFO/ASD closure, alcohol septal ablations, trans-catheter aortic and mitral valve replacement (TAVR and TMVR), left atrial appendage closure (Watchman), MitraClip, and other interventional therapies for patients with advanced heart failure.

Dr. Davila completed training in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology (AHFTC) and Interventional Cardiology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts where he was the recipient of the Robert Kung Fellowship award. He completed further training in advanced structural heart interventions at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is one of the few cardiologists in the country who is board certified in both: advanced heart failure and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Davila completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Einstein Medical Center where he was also selected to serve as a Chief Medical Resident. He earned his Medical Degree at Universidad Central de Venezuela graduating with honors. He is also a former postdoctoral research fellow of the NYU Langone Medical Center Cardiovascular Research Program. He has published several papers in the field of cardiogenic shock, acute mechanical circulatory support, structural interventions in advanced heart failure, and others.
