Biography

Aashik is from North Jersey and completed his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins where he studied Molecular & Cellular Biology and Classics. There he investigated the role of B cells in cardiac function and in disease using in vivo models of pressure overload heart failure and myocardial infarction. At Yale, his interests have shifted to utilizing computational techniques to model and screen for genetic and epigenetic drivers of cancer. Outside of the lab, he enjoys playing board games, traveling, running, playing tennis, and watching New York and Baltimore sports.
