What is the work you are most excited about right now, and why does it matter to you?
“I'm immersed in AI in medicine, building the training that helps faculty and trainees use these tools responsibly — with clarity and knowledge about where these tools fail and whom they can harm. It's urgent, unsettled, consequential work, and I'm honored to help shape how our community learns it.”
What is one lesson you wish you'd learned earlier in your career?
“Introverted women face a double barrier to being seen, and I spent too long worrying about that instead of trusting that strong work speaks for itself and that real sponsors will amplify it. Learning that late is exactly why I sponsor and advocate so deliberately now.”
Who helped open a door for you, and how?
“Janet Hafler and Beverley Sheares both recognized my ambition before I named it myself. I also had steadfast mentors in Frank Bia, Michael Kozal, Darin Latimore, John Encandela, Mark Siegel, and Stephen Huot.”
What is one thing you hope will be different for those who come after you?
“I hope women will stop having to spend more effort over more time to earn the same win as their male colleagues. Closing that effort-time-win gap will take sponsorship from men, deliberate advocacy among women, and intentional strategy from the institution.”
