Biography

Brennan Bowker, MHS, PA-C, CPAAPA is a board-certified surgical physician assistant (PA). Bowker is a 2010 graduate of Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program. Upon graduation, she joined the staff of the St. Raphael Campus as a surgical PA for trauma, emergency & general surgery. Additionally, she provides coverage for thoracic surgery and minimally invasive/bariatric surgery at the St. Raphael Campus. Bowker is also certified in robotic surgery.

Brennan actively participates in multiple committees and initiatives at the hospital ranging from staff education to patient safety. She works with the interdisciplinary team to provide the highest level of care to patients at every point in their perioperative journey. Bowker believes in the philosophy that “the smallest intervention can have the largest impact” and takes pride in making patients and families as comfortable as possible during their hospital stay.

Additionally, Bowker has a strong interest in academics and serves as a preceptor for pre-PA and PA students and has mentored many additional students. Her efforts were recognized by the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) who awarded her the distinction of “certified preceptor of the AAPA” or CPAAPA. Brennan is also an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University and teaches courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. She is particularly interested in medical writing and publishing and has published multiple manuscripts, book chapters, and a book. Additionally, Bowker is an editor for the Connecticut State Medical Society Magazine.

Brennan maintains multiple professional memberships including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants, The Connecticut State Medical Society, and the American College of Surgeons.

In her spare time, Brennan enjoys working in her garden and spending time with her family.
