Biography

Dr. Prakash Gupta is a postdoctoral research associate at the Schizophrenia Neuropharmacology Research Group at Yale (SNRGY lab). He trained in medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Dr. Gupta’s research explores the therapeutic potential of psychedelics in mental illness. He currently leads the effort for a phase 1 clinical trial investigating the Safety, Tolerability, Electrophysiological Effects and Efficacy of DMT in Humans. In parallel, he coordinates studies examining how genetic factors influence the response to cannabis and contribute to vulnerability for addiction and psychosis. His work also includes investigating whether hippocampal synaptic vesicle density improves with sustained abstinence in individuals with cannabis use disorder.
