Clinical Care

Overview

Prajwal Boddu, MD, is a hematologist with expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of blood disorders and cancers. His goal is to provide patients with the most up-to-date and effective therapies available. “I am committed to offering personalized care that considers both the medical and emotional needs of each patient,” he says.

Dr. Boddu was inspired to practice hematology and oncology as he learned about how treatments have the potential to relieve the suffering some patients endure and significantly enhance their outcomes.

“Working with cancer patients presents unique challenges due to the aggressiveness of the diseases,” he says. “The potential to positively impact their lives, help them live longer, and improve their quality of life is profoundly gratifying. The resilience and strength demonstrated by my patients continually inspire me, and I find great satisfaction in being a part of their journey toward better health.”

In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Boddu is passionate about driving meaningful change through research. “My aspiration is to not only provide excellent clinical care, but also to contribute to advancements that can make a lasting difference in the lives of cancer patients,” he says.

Dr. Boddu has been involved in outcomes research focused on identifying the most effective treatment strategies for patients with myeloid malignancies. More recently, he has directed his focus to basic research into the development of novel therapies for patients with splicing factor mutant myelodysplastic syndromes. “This line of research holds promise for advancing our understanding of these conditions and potentially introducing more targeted and effective treatment options in the future,” he says.
