Biography

Motasem Salamah, DPM, MSPH, is a resident physician in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Yale New Haven Health, where he is intensely focused on mastering sports medicine, complex trauma, and advanced reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. His clinical approach is shaped by a strong foundation in both medicine and public health, and he is committed to advancing the field through exceptional patient care and innovative research.

A distinguished graduate of Pomona College, where he was a full-tuition POSSE Foundation scholar, Dr. Salamah's early commitment to academic excellence and community leadership has been a consistent theme throughout his career. He continued this trajectory at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, earning both a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) and a Master of Science in Population Health (MSPH) degree, and was recognized for his academic achievements as a member of the Pi Delta Honor Society.

Dr. Salamah's passion for research has led to significant contributions to the field. He was the recipient of an NIH T35 training grant, which supported his work on offloading techniques for diabetic foot ulcers, and his systematic review on surgical offloading of toes has further expanded the body of knowledge.

His current research interests are broad and impactful, including foot and ankle reconstruction, sports-related injuries, osteomyelitis, limb preservation, and peripheral neuropathy. Driven by a passion for both surgical excellence and research, Dr. Salamah is dedicated to leveraging his residency training to become a future leader committed to improving patient outcomes in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
