Biography
Dr. Saini holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Delhi, India, where she identified a novel therapeutic target for rheumatoid arthritis and discovered inhibitors of dopamine β-hydroxylase as potential antihypertensive agents. She completed her first postdoctorate at Rutgers University, where she utilized crystallography-based fragment screening to uncover new druggable pockets and chemical matter targeting the Dengue virus RNA-dependent RNA polymerase.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Amity University, India, where she contributed to the discovery of potent antimalarial compounds active against Plasmodium falciparum.
Currently, as a postdoctoral associate in the Anderson Lab at Yale University, Dr. Manisha’s research focuses on identifying novel inhibitors of HIV reverse transcriptase and elucidating their binding mechanisms to guide the design of next-generation antivirals.
