Biography

Yale Medicine's Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Program provides comprehensive diagnostic services on oral biopsy specimens. The service is led by Jeffrey Eskendri, DMD, a Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist. He is a Diplomate in The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr. Eskendri has also completed a Fellowship in Dental Oncology, in which he takes special interest. He holds an active Dental Licensure in Connecticut, New York, and Virginia. The service offers a multidisciplinary approach which includes a team of subspecialty pathologists from the Yale School of Medicine Department of Pathology. Our Oral and Maxillofacial Service is part of our Head, Neck, and Endocrine Program, a highly regarded high-volume service with subspecialty expertise, affording our clients the best personal service, turnaround times, and expert diagnoses.

Jeffrey Eskendri, DMD, is an oral and maxillofacial pathologist who specializes in diagnosing diseases of the mouth and jaw. He also focuses on head, neck, and endocrine pathology, which involves assessing conditions that affect hormone-producing glands in the face and neck.

Dr. Eskendri provides comprehensive evaluations to help guide treatment decisions for a variety of conditions, including benign and cancerous lesions of the oral region. He has a special interest in dental oncology, applying his expertise to identify and monitor tumors involving the mouth and surrounding structures.

An assistant professor (adjunct) at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Eskendri integrates his clinical work with research aimed at improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. He completed his dental training at Temple University, a fellowship in dental oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and specialized training in oral and maxillofacial pathology at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.
