Biography

Dr. Enquist offers his patients evaluation and treatment of voiding dysfunction in men and women, kidney stones, urologic cancers (prostate, bladder, kidney), infertility, erectile dysfunction, and BPH. He also performs minimally-invasive office-based procedures including vasectomies and treatment of prostate-related urinary problems, as well as pelvic floor therapy for women with urinary incontinence and other types of voiding dysfunction.

Previously Chief of Surgery at Westerly Hospital, Dr. Erik Enquist received his Medical Degree from University of Colorado School of Medicine, and completed a surgical residency at Rhode Island Hospital and Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and a residency in urology at George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Enquist completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at National Cancer Institute/NIH.

Overview

Erik Enquist, MD, is a urologist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of urinary dysfunction in both men and women. His areas of clinical focus include kidney stones, urologic cancers (prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular), male infertility, erectile dysfunction and hypogonadism (low testosterone), and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Dr. Enquist provides minimally invasive, office-based procedures, including vasectomies and treatments for prostate-related urinary problems. He also offers pelvic floor therapy for women with urinary incontinence and other types of voiding dysfunction.

“I am passionate about my work because it allows me to cure a variety of urologic diseases and improve the quality of life for the patients I care for,” he says. “My favorite part of my job is seeing the joy on my patients' faces after successfully treating them.”

An assistant professor of urology at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Enquist earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed a surgical residency at Rhode Island Hospital and the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, followed by a residency in urology at George Washington University Medical Center, and a fellowship in urologic oncology at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health.

Throughout his career, Dr. Enquist has received numerous accolades, including serving as the chief of surgery at Westerly Hospital before joining Yale.
