Biography
Christiany Tapia is a medical graduate pursuing a career in Internal Medicine, with plans to specialize in Cardiology. Dr. Tapia obtained her M.D. degree in 2020 in Ecuador and returned to the United States after 20 years to further her knowledge and advance her professional development.
Dr. Tapia began her clinical research journey at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she completed the course Principles and Practices of Clinical Research and discovered her passion for this field. She later worked as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Cardiovascular Research Group under the supervision of Dr. Alexandra Lansky. Dr. Tapia successfully applied for a postdoctoral training position through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is now a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the VAMOS Lab, working under the mentorship of Dr. Kim Smolderen and Dr. Carlos Mena-Hurtado, while also contributing to research initiatives at the Yale Translational Research Imaging Center (Y-TRIC) under the guidance of Dr. Albert J. Sinusas.
