Biography
Avery Williams joined Yale in 2024 as a member of the Integrated Interventional Radiology residency program. She was raised in Arizona and attended Arizona State University where she received concurrent degrees in Biochemistry and Anthropology. After her undergraduate studies, Avery taught high school biology for two years before pursing her Master's degree in Modern Human Anatomy at the University of Colorado. She then worked as a research assistant in the Department of Anatomy at Midwestern University (AZ) for three years before attending the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix for medical school. Avery is a first generation college graduate and the only member of her extended family to have a career in medicine. She was drawn to Interventional Radiology due to her interest in anatomy, the broad spectrum of procedures, and the significant impact the minimally invasive procedures can have for patients.
