Biography
Abigail (Abi) Jolteus is a postgraduate research associate in the division of dermatology. She received her B.S. from Yale College. She also received the Yale Tetelman Fellowship to complete a summer research internship at Institut Pasteur (Paris). Her research focuses on the transcriptional regulation of transposable elements (TE) in cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE). She is specifically interested in defining the upstream molecular drivers of IFN-I-induced TE transcription and establishing the full complement of nucleic acid sensors activated by CLE-derived TEs. She is the recipient of an NIH T32 Training Grant Award through the Department of Dermatology to study the origins of type I
interferons (IFN-I) in cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) as part of the Gelhausen Lab.
