What if you could enhance your medical training by practicing real-life scenarios, refining your skills, and collaborating with colleagues in real time?
The Simulation Design and Debriefing Intensive is a dynamic, two-day learning experience for faculty and staff from Yale New Haven Health and Yale School of Medicine. The immersive program blends adult learning with hands-on application across clinical and non-clinical settings. Guided by faculty from the Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation (YCHS), participants leave with practical skills they can immediately use in their work.
Attendees develop a simulation scenario, run it with peers, and lead a structured debriefing session while receiving real-time feedback from faculty. This approach helps to build confidence, sharpen critical thinking, and strengthen facilitation skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
"The Simulation Design and Debriefing Course is a perfect mix of the theoretical and practical,” a recent participant said. “PowerPoints were kept to a minimum which underscored how hands-on simulation is an effective teaching tool when it’s done right!"
The YCHS Simulation Design and Debriefing Intensive equips participants with the tools to design more interactive, relevant, and lasting learning experiences, facilitate reflective conversations, and elevate education across teams.
