Research
Since 2017, the faculty have published greater than 50 academic articles on topics including predictive analytics and machine learning in the ED setting, safety risks during inter-hospital patient care transitions, quality of care for septic shock patients, and adverse patient outcomes associated with ED boarding. Drs. Ulrich, Parwani, Sather, Taylor and Venkatesh have procured federal grants from the NIH and the AHRQ to lead national projects aimed at reducing the harm of opioids, and as part of the Yale Center for Healthcare Learning and Redesign (CHIRAL), focused on improving transfers of patient care from one setting or team, to another.
