Clinical Services

When a health crisis can’t wait, our expert emergency care team is ready to respond 24/7, 365 days a year, at three locations across the greater New Haven area: our main campus at York Street, the Saint Raphael campus, and the Shoreline Medical Center in Guilford. Our board-certified emergency physicians, surgeons, and specialists, as well as emergency-trained nurses and support staff, are ready at any time to provide immediate care for any urgent illness and injury.

People of all ages can receive care at any of our emergency departments. At York Street, children can be seen at a separate pediatric emergency department.

Launched in 2014, critical care transport includes Sky Health and Ground Transport.

Yale New Haven is a designated Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma facility at the York Street Campus, the first and only hospital in the state of Connecticut with this status. The trauma center provides the highest level of surgical care to trauma patients, delivered by expert medical and nursing staffs in the emergency department, operating rooms and intensive care units.

From prevention to treatment and recovery, Yale New Haven Hospital provides the most experienced doctors and the latest diagnostic tools, techniques and treatments for exceptional stroke care, 24 hours a day.

Yale New Haven Hospital’s Chest Pain Center is a short-stay evaluation unit for patients who arrive at the hospital complaining of chest pain and/or heart attack symptoms. Located within the Emergency Department the Chest Pain Center is designed to quickly provide the tests and diagnosis for patients that result in accurate, fast treatment. We also strive to educate patients on the risk factors associated with heart disease and the symptoms of a heart attack.
