Real-World Evidence (RWE) in Acute Care Lab
Real-world evidence (RWE) is clinical evidence generated from real-world data (RWD) routinely collected in health care settings, such as registries and electronic health records (EHRs). The RWE in Acute Care Lab brings together a multidisciplinary team of emergency medicine clinical investigators, informaticists, and master’s and doctoral students whose goal is to harness RWE for clinical research and discovery, and to advance evidence-based decision-making to improve patient care in acute care settings. Real-world data sources used in the lab include Cosmos, the largest database of EHR patient information, comprising billions of clinical data points from across the Epic community.
For more information about Cosmos, and to request access to the data set visit Yale Biomedical Informatics & Computing.
