In the latest edition of a spotlight series launched in February 2023 to feature integrated business operations (IBO) and administration staff at the Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) and Department of Psychiatry, meet YCSC Account Manager Nick Cavallaro, who is marking five years of service at Yale and in his current position.
What led you to your current job or career?
In high school I always enjoyed my accounting classes which led me to majoring in accounting in college. I started my career in public accounting in the metro area. The hustle and bustle of New York City was a rush and the connections I made in those five years will last forever. After my first five years, I could tell I needed a change. I wanted to join a company, team, or organization whose work had deeper meaning. I found that here at the Yale School of Medicine and in the Child Study Center.
What energizes you outside of work?
I enjoy hiking and golfing in the warmer months and winter sports such as snowboarding and skiing in the colder months.
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Friendly, compassionate, and funny.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
I’ve always had an interest in history. If I could travel anywhere, it would be Europe. I would land in Italy and take trains across all of Europe.
