Focus Fridays

On select Fridays throughout the academic year, YCSC community members are invited to join the center’s Chief Diversity Officer Tara Davila in expanding their professional learning through the exploration of topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Each “Friday Focus” session offers dedicated time and space to learn together through supported reflection and conversation focused on highlighting the power of diversity across the center’s missions.

“As we continue to engage in our efforts toward cultural change, we must ensure that we are not only focused on issues of racial equity and social justice on days that we have workshops, but that it becomes part of how we operate. Ongoing spaces for continued reflection and learning help us to combat our biases and deepen our efforts to create a more inclusive and just community.” ~Tara Davila, LCSW

Community members are asked to pre-register for these sessions, typically offered on the second or third Friday of the month at 11 a.m. beginning in the fall semester and running through June. Registration information can be found on the department’s shared Outlook calendar and the YCSC intranet (login required).
