Research Overview
Our program of research focuses on four main areas: Emotion Science, SEL Assessment, SEL Field Building, and RULER. Center researchers actively work to be at the forefront of translational emotion science, building and evaluating tools to support students, teachers, and schools to thrive. Our work provides actionable guidance for improving individual skill-building and measures to improve school climate, as well as advises how to best measure the impact of SEL within a school community.
RULER research focuses on the efficacy of the approach in schools grades preK through 12 and cataloging needed modifications to be most accessible and inclusive for all learners. Additional studies are underway to examine the relationships between emotions and workplace variables such as leadership, well-being, and burnout as well as between emotions and creativity and the arts. We invite you to explore our research categories below for details.
