Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center
Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center– South Campus is a state-administered Psychiatric facility for Connecticut’s children who are under the age of eighteen.
This two-year YCSC training program involves two tracks, New Haven and Solnit-South. New Haven Track fellows are employees paid by YNHH and work 100% of their time in New Haven during year one. This includes inpatient, outpatient, CL/ED, and call. Solnit Track fellows are State of Connecticut employees paid by the state and work 2.5 days per week at Solnit South in Middletown and 2.5 days per week in New Haven.
Placements and rotations for year one and two of training for each track are outlined below. Fellows complete the indicated number of months in each rotation, in no specific order, and schedules are assigned individually across multiple services and training sites.

The Children's Psychiatric Inpatient Service (CPIS) combines the unique resources of Yale New Haven Children's Hospital with the world-renowned faculty of Yale School of Medicine departments of child psychiatry (Yale Child Study Center) and pediatrics.
Our inpatient units treat patients with the most common and most disabling psychiatric disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder and other major psychiatric conditions.
