In addition to the array of clinical and assessment services offered through Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) Clinical Services in New Haven, Connecticut, behavioral health services are now being offered in the center’s new Westport office. Provided by three YCSC clinical faculty members, Westport services are available for families with children from birth through age 18. Services include the evaluation and treatment of anxiety, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and executive functioning, with a focus on supporting parenting skills and providing evidence-based culturally responsive services to children and families.

The clinicians providing services in Westport are Tamique Ridgard Peters, PhD, a psychologist whose areas of specialty include parenting skills training, treatment of externalizing behaviors, ADHD, and anxiety; Jackie Britt-Friedman, PsyD, a psychologist whose areas of specialization include ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, and executive functioning skills; and Ayotunde Ayobello, MD, a child psychiatrist who provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, therapy, and psychological coaching for student athletes.

All three providers offer school consultations, workshops, and evidence-based treatment, including the YCSC Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) model and Parent Management Training (PMT). Services at the Westport office are offered on a fee-for-service basis—and families have the option of submitting statements to their insurance companies for reimbursement.

YCSC Vice Chair of Ambulatory Services Michele Goyette-Ewing, PhD, commented, “We are delighted to be able to offer the expertise of Child Study Center faculty closer to home for Fairfield County children and families. With compassionate guidance and specialized knowledge, our faculty are dedicated to empowering families to enhance their children’s development, overcome challenges, and foster positive relationships.”

While ongoing treatment is limited to families living within New Haven County at the YCSC’s New Haven locationwhere several insurance providers are accepted for both treatment and assessment services treatment services at the Westport office can be accessed by families outside of the immediate geographical area.

All psychological and specialty assessments offered by the YCSC continue to be open to families from across Connecticut and the United States.
