Biography

Dr. Michael B. Hager is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in infant and early childhood mental health, attachment, parenting, and relationship-based interventions. He is currently a Lecturer in Early Childhood Psychology at the Yale Child Study Center, where he provides comprehensive assessment, intervention, and consultation services for infants, young children, and their caregivers. Throughout his clinical and research career, Dr. Hager has focused on understanding and promoting healthy early relationships through the application of attachment theory, reflective functioning, and evidence-based early childhood interventions. His research has examined parental reflective functioning and caregiver sensitivity, culminating in the development of the Parent Rearing Coding System (PRCS), a novel observational measure of these constructs. Through his teaching, research, and scholarly writing, Dr. Hager seeks to bridge the gap between developmental science and practical applications that support children and families.
