Annual Women in Medicine (WIM) Annual Keynote Lectures and Reception

Please join us for our Annual Women in Medicine (WIM) Annual Keynote Lectures and Reception on Wednesday September 30, 2020 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm via Zoom.

This year, we have the privilege of hosting both Drs. Nita Ahuja and Jessica Illuzzi as our two keynote speakers.

Dr. Ahuja, the William H. Carmalt Professor of Surgery at Yale has an MD from Duke University School of Medicine and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. Since February 2018, she has been serving as the chair of the Department of Surgery at YSM and Chief of Surgery at YNHH. Dr. Ahuja is an international expert on surgical oncology and the first female Chair of Surgery at YSM.

Dr. Illuzzi has an MD from Harvard Medical School and MS in Epidemiology from Yale. She did her residency at YNHH and currently serves as the Chief of the Obstetric Specialties and Midwifery division. Dr. Illuzzi serves several roles in the education of the YSM medical students. She is both Director of Medical Studies for Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of Electives at YSM.

The event will begin with both Drs. Ahuja and Illuzzi highlighting their specialties and passions in medicine. Then, we will move to a dialogue centering around their careers and experiences of being women in medicine. We know that this event will provide a wonderful start for the academic year.

Women in Medicine is open to every member of the Yale community and we hope you will attend.
