The W.M. Keck Foundation announced in July the first five grant recipients under its newly established Distinguished Young Scholars in Medical Research Program. Each will receive $1 million in research support for up to five years. Mark Gerstein, Ph.D., assistant professor of molecular biophysics and biochemistry, received an award for his research on solving key problems in structural biology and genomics, using both computational and theoretical approaches.
