Each year, Yale School of Medicine (YSM) and the Office of Academic & Professional Development (OAPD) invite ladder, instructor and research rank faculty who joined—or will join—YSM between Sept. 1, 2025, and Aug. 31, 2026, to an all-day orientation.
This year’s program will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at The Anlyan Center (TAC), 300 Cedar St. Whether new to YSM or have been here for several months, the orientation helps connect faculty members with key resources, practical guidance, and colleagues across YSM and Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) to support a career at Yale.
Program Highlights
- Welcome remarks from Nancy J. Brown, MD, Jean and David W. Wallace Dean of Medicine
- Overview of YSM’s clinical, education, and research missions
- Introduction to faculty ranks and tracks (with break-out sessions)
- Resources on annual feedback, communications, professionalism, well-being, and leadership/professional development
Please note OAPD will ask department leadership to relieve new faculty of any clinical obligations on the day of orientation and Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit is available for those who participate.
