Thursday, April 24 – MEDG “Scrambling for Ambulatory Placement Sites: How Do We Recruit and Retain Community Clinician Preceptors?” with Jennifer Rockfeld, MD
A fundamental aspect of medical training is experiential learning through clinical placements. Academic outpatient practices cannot meet the needs of medical schools, creating high demand for community practices that provide high quality preceptorships. We will discuss what motivates clinicians to teach in the ambulatory setting, the barriers they face, and how to best incentivize these clinician teachers. A collaboration between Northeast Medical Group and Yale School of Medicine will be explored as an example.
Friday, April 25 – YES! “Setting Goals” with Jeremy Branzetti, MD, MHPE
Goal setting is part of the mastery learning cycle. Learn how to spell out specific ends and means goals and how to collaborate with learners to get the most out of every educational block.
