- 00:00Hi, my name is Anthony Bucaram and I've been
- 00:06in yet for almost three years now.
- 00:11My first year, actually I was here
- 00:14as a fellow and there are many
- 00:16reasons that made me big deal as my
- 00:19number one choice for fellowship.
- 00:21One of them is the fact that
- 00:23it's a very big center that you
- 00:26get to see a lot of diseases.
- 00:28Lot of brain tumors.
- 00:30You can easily read the
- 00:31567 cases of glioblastoma.
- 00:33Today we have a lot of brain metastasis,
- 00:36cases treated brain metastasis
- 00:37with gamma knife.
- 00:38It's actually a very big Center for that.
- 00:41And you will become an expert
- 00:44in that as well.
- 00:45We have a big neurology section
- 00:47that sends us patient for all
- 00:50kind of neurological diseases.
- 00:51You become really well at
- 00:53like seizure evaluation.
- 00:54All kind of neurological
- 00:56processes that you can think of.
- 00:58We have a lot of pediatric
- 01:01brain Mris to read as well.
- 01:03And also you would be very
- 01:06comfortable reading pediatric MRI's.
- 01:07At the end of your fellow ship,
- 01:10it can be sometimes tricky and
- 01:12challenging pediatric Mris,
- 01:13but hopefully at the end of this year of
- 01:16fellowship you'll become really good at them.
- 01:18We also have a very solid header.
- 01:21Next section you see a lot of
- 01:23tumors in the head and neck area,
- 01:25and you become.
- 01:27At the end of the Fellowship,
- 01:29an expert or and good at it,
- 01:32we involve the following the tumor board,
- 01:34the head and neck tumor board so they can.
- 01:37They can present at the neck cases.
- 01:40They can learn more about them.
- 01:42They can learn about the grading and
- 01:44truly at the end of the fellowship,
- 01:47then like will become like an
- 01:49easy topic for the fellows.
- 01:51We also have a very stronger procedure
- 01:53service that does lumbar puncture
- 01:55myelogram epidural blood patches.
- 01:57City guided biopsies of the
- 01:59spine with city guided biopsy's
- 02:02of the head and neck area.
- 02:04When you become comfortable
- 02:05doing like biopsies and all
- 02:07these like Lightner procedures,
- 02:09at the end of the Fellowship
- 02:11an one very important thing to
- 02:13mention about our fellowship.
- 02:14An hour Department is the grade,
- 02:17collegial atmosphere.
- 02:17Truly,
- 02:18it's like it's a blessing to be working
- 02:22in this place with these people.
- 02:24Like with the attendings and fellows,
- 02:27everybody is super nice.
- 02:29Everybody care about the fellow education.
- 02:31Like from my fellowship I never
- 02:33had issues with with other people.
- 02:35It's really great to work with everybody.
- 02:38Everybody wants wants to help
- 02:40everybody will give you their
- 02:42opinion on cases everybody is like
- 02:44open to teaching and they wanted
- 02:46to teach and it was an amazing
- 02:48experience for me as a fellow.
- 02:51Teaching wise and I would go happy happily
- 02:53to work with these great attendings.
- 02:56And when they offered me to stay as
- 02:58an attending I immediately said yes.
- 03:01I guess because I knew what
- 03:03I was signing up for.
- 03:05I will be working with amazing
- 03:07and wonderful people.
- 03:08Everybody has his own expertise in
- 03:10something and this I think will be
- 03:13very precious for you and your fellow
- 03:15ship. You will have experts and
- 03:17seizures you have expert in brain
- 03:20tumors and head and neck tumors.
- 03:22Everybody has his own like niche
- 03:24that they will make you really
- 03:26good at and teach you all the
- 03:28ends and outs of their expertise.
- 03:31And I think this is like really great.
- 03:34We're like 14 attendings
- 03:35an everybody will give you.
- 03:37An additional additional package at the
- 03:40end of the Fellowship and additional
- 03:42push to be like to learn from their
- 03:45expertise and go and read cases
- 03:47with a lot of comfort and with a lot
- 03:50of expertise as a new radiologist.
- 03:53So essentially I mean I can talk all
- 03:56day about how great this program is,
- 03:59an how about how great this year
- 04:01will be if you come on do your new
- 04:05radiology fellowship at our place.
- 04:07I'm sure we will have the opportunity
- 04:09to talk more during the interview.
