BPHY presents: "Health on the African Continent"

In health and medicine, the Western viewpoint is often the most commonly used, discussed, and respected perspective; leaving many other perspectives unexplored and dismissed from medical academia and systems. Attempting to shed light on these unknown perspectives, our event will focus on the health of the African continent, gathering viewpoints, ideas, aspirations, and experiences from 5 accomplished African healthcare professionals. In this event, we will touch on what it means to do health work on the African continent, the biggest healthcare benefits and challenges in different African nations, and more. Black Pre-Health Students at Yale (BPHY) is honored to have Adebowale Adeniran, MD, Darlington Akogo, Mahalia S. Desruisseux, MD, Hani Mowafi MD, MPH, BS, and Francine Ntoumi PhD, HDR, PvDz, FRCP discuss their amazing work, perspectives, experiences, and motivations as African health professionals, scholars, innovators, and leaders. We hope that by participating in this event you may learn more about African health systems, broaden your scope of global medicine, and learn about how to contribute. Join BPHY as we discuss the current state of Health on the African Continent.
