Dear YSM Colleagues,
With the holiday season upon us, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to all YSM faculty members for their steadfast commitment to our shared educational, research, and clinical care missions. As we started this academic year, we had the opportunity to welcome our newest faculty members, including more than 100 who came together for our annual Incoming Faculty Orientation program. The energy in the room was inspiring and provided an opportunity for faculty to network with each other and leaders across the medical school, health system, and university.
We’d also like to recognize our distinguished leaders who assumed their roles as department chairs this year, including Wolfram Goessling, MD, PhD; Gillian Griffiths, PhD; Benjamin Judson, MD, MBA; Pooja Khatri, MD, MS; and Christopher Whitlow, MD, PhD, in the Departments of Internal Medicine; Cell Biology; Surgery; Neurology; and Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, respectively.
We are excited to launch a new feature in this issue, where we celebrate the appointments and promotions of faculty members whose contributions to training our outstanding students, remaining at the forefront of transformative discoveries in research, and improving health for our communities, is to be commended.
This issue also includes important information and resources to support you in your career, including ongoing faculty workshops and wellness webinars, communications services available to support you, as well as the latest "What's Your Y?" feature, where we ask one of our exemplary faculty members to reflect on their why-or what inspires them, and more.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to advance our missions.
