The Class of 1956 is a fine example of “the new 80 is the old 60.” We are generally healthy, well read, well traveled, and full of life. In fact at least four of us are still working. For those returning Thursday there was an informal gathering for cocktails and Pepe’s pizza at “The Barn,” a “like being home” private facility in Hamden. After the scheduled Friday activities, the class took over two private rooms upstairs at Mory’s for the first formal phase of our reunion. After the scheduled Saturday activities our expanded group returned to “The Barn” for more camaraderie and a gourmet-class dinner, prepared by one of us. The weekend closed out with a class brunch Sunday. A testimony of the class spirit can be judged by the numbers. Of the 58 remaining, 16 came back and another seven wanted to, but had to send regrets. All these activities flowed smoothly because of the excellent support of the alumni office.
We had the pleasure of being reunited with our following classmates (plus wives or husbands): Rosalie Burns and Herb Goldberg; Jim and Tina Collias; Chan and Paula Dawson; Steve Downing; Mitch and Janet Edson; Gil and Rona Eisner; John Gardner; Sumner and Shayna Gochberg; Alan Gurwitt and Charmain Proskauer; Bill and Susan Hindle; Jerry and Linda Klein; Dwight Miller and Carol Gilbert; Fred and JaneNorth; George and Ruth Paulson; Jim Scheuer; and Romeo Vidone.
