Meet Zsofia Leranth-Nagy

How long have you been at Yale and what roles have you filled in that time?

I have been at Yale University for 18 years; I started in 2005 as a Financial Analyst in the Department of OBGYN and then in 2008 transitioned to the Child Study Center into the role of Associate Professor Administrator.

What led you to your current career?

I earned my undergraduate degree in hotel administration. I found I enjoyed the back-office work more than front house operations and have been working in the finance field since the beginning of my career. I worked at the Marriott in Budapest after I finished college and lived in Hungary for 7 years. When I moved back to the states in 2004, I found it hard to find the same type of work in the hospitality industry in the state of Connecticut. When I was made aware of the open position in the Department of OBGYN, I felt it was a good fit for me. I worked with Karen Muth in my role at OBGYN, and then followed her to the Child Study Center when she took the role of Lead Administrator.

What energizes you outside of work?

I love to be active and enjoy the outdoors. I also love to travel. I am originally Hungarian and I enjoy going to visit Hungary with my family because we also plan trips to surrounding countries while we are there. This summer we are visiting the national parks in Utah and the Grand Canyon.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Sarcastic, diligent, not punctual

What is an accomplishment you are proud of outside of work/your current job?

I gathered enough courage to go sky diving about 4 summers ago.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

I would love to travel all over Africa.
