Biography
I received my BA from Jackson College of Tufts University and my MD from the Cornell University Medical College. I came to Yale to do my Cardiology Fellowship (where I was the first female cardiology fellow and the first fellow who did additional training in Cardiac Electrophysiology) and have been at Yale since then. I have emphasized patient care and teaching during my career and I am the Director of the Yale Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program and Firm Chief of the Goodyer Teaching Service. My research interests have included device and drug therapy of arrhythmias, arrhythmias complicating the management of adults with congenital heart disease, atrial fibrillation, and the cardiac manifestations of sarcoidosis.

Research
Overview
My research interests have included the arrhythmias associated with congenital heart disease, the unique presentation of Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome in older patients, studies examining the management of atrial fibrillation and the use of implantable cardiac electronic devices as well as the remote monitoring of those devices. I have also been involved in studies examining the impact of stroke in the setting of atrial fibrillation on patients and their care givers and in examining strategies for screening for asymptomatic atrial fibrillation. I have a special interest in the diagnosis and arrhythmic consequences of cardiac sarcoidosis and am involved in writing the upcoming revised guidelines for the diagnosis and management of cardiac involvement in Lyme disease.

Overview
Lynda E. Rosenfeld, MD, is a cardiologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating irregular heartbeats. Her message to new patients: “We will figure this out and help your life be better.”
Dr. Rosenfeld became a physician because of her interest in heartbeat irregularities and their treatment. Her current research is focused on remote monitoring of implantable devices that control and correct heart arrhythmias. Such devices, along with major advances in cardiac care, have revolutionized the field. “I’m struck by the amazing progress in cardiology in general and electrophysiology in particular during my professional lifetime,” she says.
A professor of medicine (cardiovascular) at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Rosenfeld finds her greatest satisfaction in helping patients manage difficult health challenges, and then watching them go on to lead happy and productive lives. “I have many patients who are memorable for their incredible courage, strength and humor,” she says.
