Biography

Adrian Acuna Higaki is a 4th year medical student at Yale School of Medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida and a Master of Multidisciplinary Research in Experimental Sciences from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona. Adrian’s research interests include outcomes in cardiac surgery and diversity, equity, and inclusion in surgery.

During his time at Yale, Adrian has served as co-president of the Yale School of Medicine Class of 2024, co-president of the Yale Cardiothoracic Surgery Interest Group and sat on several committees including the Search Committee for Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Faculty Teaching Award Selection Committee, and the Admissions Committee for MD and MD/PhD students.
