Clinical Trial Tissue Services (CTTS)
Clinical Trial Tissue Services is a shared resource of Yale Cancer Center & Yale Pathology Tissue Services.
Mission
The mission of Clinical Trial Tissue Services is to provide the Yale community and clients around the world with high quality formalin-fixed paraffin embedded material (FFPE) to promote and facilitate research. Tissue is often requested for inclusion in a clinical trial, or for the correlative science associated with clinical trials requested in IRB/HIC approved protocols with specific requirements. All our tissue is handled in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations, University Research Policies, Pathology Department diagnostic requirements, and Hospital by-laws.
Services and Procedures
Services
It is the policy of our Department to retain all tissue blocks, so to satisfy investigators with indispensable material for research or clinical trial, we offer the following:
- Paraffin-embedded tissue block cores ranging from 1 mm to 4 mm
- Paraffin-embedded tissue block cores that are re-embedded into a labeled tissue block
- Paraffin-embedded recut slides at thickness requested
- Paraffin-embedded recut slides that are H&E stained
Procedures
For each work request, a standard CTTS Work Request form must be completed by the requesting investigator. The completed form gives us your ordering and shipping information and charging instructions, as well as patient-requested tissue specifications. CTTS strives to complete all requests within a time sensitive manner.
Please email all Clinical Trial Tissue Service requests to CTTS@yale.edu or fax to (203) 737-8388.
