A foundation started by Joseph Madri, MD, PhD, professor emeritus of pathology, and his wife, Lucille, funds many worthwhile causes, including a professorship at the Yale Department of Pathology.
The Joseph A. & Lucille K. Madri Lecture in Pathology
The annual Joseph A. & Lucille K. Madri Lecture in Pathology was established through the generosity of Lucille and Joseph Madri to highlight groundbreaking basic and translational research in Yale’s Department of Pathology. Joseph Madri, MD/PhD, is Professor Emeritus of Pathology at Yale. The lecture is funded by the Joseph and Lucille Madri Family Foundation, which also sponsors the Joseph A. & Lucille K. Professorship in Pathology, held by Katerina Politi, PhD.
The lecture’s intent, Dr. Madri said, is to enrich the Pathology Department, especially graduate students and postdocs, by showing them what superior investigators are like. The lecture is also a resource to fund graduate students going to conferences.
“It’ s for the betterment of the graduate students, which benefits the whole department,” Dr. Madri said. The annual lecture is held in the spring.
