YJBM hosts first in colloquium series

The Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine (YJBM) hosted the first in a series of quarterly colloquia on April 5, with a talk by Tamas Horvath, D.V.M., Ph.D., professor and chair of the Section of Comparative Medicine, the Jean and David W. Wallace Professor of Biomedical Science, professor of neurobiology, and the director of the Yale Program in Integrative Cell Signaling and Neurobiology of Metabolism. Horvath’s talk, “Hypothalamic Hunger-Promoting Neurons Regulate Higher Brain Functions and Longevity,” was attended by about 90 students and faculty members.

YJBM is a PubMed-indexed, open access journal whose mission is to provide both graduate students and medical students with experience in writing, reviewing, and publishing scientific articles. The editorial board is made up of medical and graduate students and faculty members, and the journal has been in publication since 1928. The journal is published quarterly, and each issue focuses on a specific topic.
